As part of a larger Program or Project Management engagement, or independently as part of a Business Improvement initiative, BSGI performs Business Process elicitation, documentation, and analysis for the purposes of understanding As-Is client service delivery and to provide design guidance for To-Be client service delivery. Business Process Analysis and Re-Engineering Activities include:
- Provide requirements elicitation, definition, and documentation in an approved Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) format
Perform ongoing gap analysis of the RTM as Business Processes are defined and documented - Define and document current Business Processes in As-Is Business Process Models (BPMs) utilizing industry best toolsets such as BPMN, MSVisio, IBM Rational, Sparx, and erwin
- Conduct guided facilitated review sessions with process stakeholders to verify BPMs
- Identify duplicate, redundant, and unnecessary process flows and design future state (To-Be) BPMs
- Conduct analysis and re-engineering of processes to optimize them for future state Business Processes
- Document and analyze current Business Rules inventory as applied to BPMs;
- Perform Gap Analysis to map Business Rules inventory to optimized To-Be BPMs
- Document and fully define Business Artifacts inventory to include all electronic, printed, published, or emailed artifacts developed within the Business Processes;
- Perform Gap Analysis to map Business Artifacts Inventory to To-Be BPMs
- Review and analyze existing Organization Charts and structures to determine best “fit” with optimized BPMs, and recommending appropriate adjustments
- Map all defined requirements to processes within the As-Is and/or the To-Be BPMs
- Maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix throughout system design and development, assuring all requirements are delivered as defined
- Provide ongoing Gap Analysis to provide input to system completion and acceptance processes
